Language of Love debuted on the finale of season 5 of I Kveld Med Ylvis 15 March, 2016.
The track was the sixth Ylvis single to be produced by Norwegian production team Stargate, behind The Fox, Trucker's Hitch, Mr Toot, Yoghurt and Intolerant.
Language of love is Ylvis' first multilingual single, featuring a whopping four languages: English, Korean, Sea lionese and the elusive 'Language of love'.
The story of 'Language of Love'[]
Introducing 'Language of Love' on the Season 5 finale of I kveld med Ylvis:
Bård: "We have made a lot of music videos over the years. Now it's time for one about the most important thing in life.
Vegard: "Yes, sex".
Calle: "Money".
Bård: "Great suggestions. But this one is, of course, about love".

The video, directed by Ole Martin Hafsmo, was filmed across various locations in Oslo and Bergen. The opening scene depicts Bård eating alone in a sushi restaurant. A yellow ferrari pulls up and a mysterious Korean woman steps out of the car, giving Bård a brief smile. She enters the restaurant and touches the tip of her knee seductively. Bård is instantly smitten, but it is soon apparent that they cannot understand each other. However, love has a special way of overcoming language barriers, and they quickly learn to communicate with a mysterious shared language, the Language of Love.
However, their blissful union proves to be short-lived. On a visit to the zoo Bård glimpses a seal through the aquarium tank. The two share a meaningful look, falling in love at first glance. As with his current girlfriend (who he has suddenly forgotten), he is initially dismayed to find that the seal does not speak his language. However, the moment his hand touches her flipper something magical happens, and they are able to communicate with each other.
In the following scenes, we see the Korean girl packing her suitcase and fleeing as Bård plots to free his new girlfriend from the aquarium. The pair hop into a taxi and rush back to Bård's apartment, singing about their joyful union. In the final scene, a contemplative seal asks her new man "What is love?", to which Bård explains:
"Love is the greatest thing of all. When we love, we all can speak, speak the language. The language of love!"
As he explains, Bård is joined in song by the moon, played by Vegard, showing that love really can transcend all physical boundaries of time and space.
